A leading and well-established accountancy practice in Warrington is seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join their team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to take responsibility for managing a portfolio of audit clients and leading audit teams, working with a variety of industries and clients.
The Role:
As an Audit Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing the delivery of high-quality audits, managing client relationships, and ensuring the development of your audit team. You will work closely with the partners to help drive the firm's growth and client success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing and delivering audits for a portfolio of clients across various sectors, ensuring compliance with UK audit regulations.
- Leading and overseeing audit teams, providing guidance, training, and reviewing the work of junior staff.
- Planning and executing audit assignments, including setting budgets and timeframes, and ensuring audits are completed on time and to a high standard.
- Liaising with clients to understand their business and audit needs, identifying areas for improvement, and providing value-added advice.
- Reviewing audit files and ensuring all documentation meets regulatory standards.
- Developing and maintaining strong client relationships, acting as the main point of contact for all audit matters.
- Assisting with business development initiatives, including preparing proposals and identifying new opportunities for audit services.
- Managing audit resources effectively, ensuring audit teams are appropriately staffed and supported.
- Reporting to senior management and partners on audit progress, client feedback, and team performance.
- Keeping up to date with changes in audit regulations and standards, ensuring the firm's audit approach remains compliant and efficient.
Requirements:
- ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent) with at least 5 years of experience in an audit role within an accountancy practice.
- Proven experience in managing audit teams and leading audits from planning to completion.
- Strong knowledge of UK audit regulations and financial reporting standards (IFRS, UK GAAP).
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and deliver client-focused solutions.
- Experience in managing multiple projects and deadlines, with strong organisational skills.
- Proficiency in audit software and accounting packages such as CaseWare, Sage, and Xero.
- A proactive and solutions-oriented approach to work, with strong attention to detail.
