Cordwallis Group in Maidenhead are seeking to appoint a dedicated and flexible Service Technician Apprentice technician to train in the world of VW Light Commercial Vehicles. Volkswagen are a world renowned manufacturer and their training along with hand on practical experience with our Service Technicians is second to none.
You will attend block training courses every month at the National Learning Centre (Volkswagen) in Milton Keynes as well as working day to day in a commercial workshop with experienced technicians. All tuition fees, travel and accommodation is paid for by Cordwallis Group, leaving you with no debts after your learning journey.
The apprenticeship lasts for three years and is fully structured to support your learning and additional support if required. Most of our apprentices choose to stay with us within our four different locations in the South of England (Maidenhead, Reading, Bicester and Heathrow) once completing their end point assessment.
Working as an Apprentice Service Technician is not about grease, overalls and back-street garages. The Technicians of today work for retailers such as ourselves, equipped with the latest technology, in pristine environments. As an Apprentice Service Technician you would be responsible for learning the technical aspects of carrying out routine maintenance, basic repairs and identifying and reporting faults on vehicles.
At a more advanced level you'll learn more about complex faults and repair them using sophisticated diagnostic equipment. At a higher level, you could be dealing with the most complex automotive systems.
In order to join our friendly knowledgeable team you will need the right qualifications to start you on your learner journey. For Volkswagen this is a minimum of GCSE (or equivalent) in English, Maths and Science Grade 9 - 4 (A - C). You'll also need to demonstrate your passion and enthusiasm for the job; show that you are a good listener and be interested in technology as a tool to fix problems.
