As a Category Manager, you'll:
- Drive procurement strategy, planning, and supply chain management.??
- Deliver high-quality projects on time and within budget.
- Support diverse nuclear sector projects, ensuring optimal provision of goods, works, and services.
The Key Responsibilities of a Category Manager:
- Analyse demand forecasts and ensure procurement activities meet identified needs.
- Develop and deploy contract and supply chain strategies aligned with client objectives.
- Assist in developing work programs for effective resource deployment.
- Identify and manage procurement/commercial risks. ??
- Protect legal interests in procurement activities.
- Support sourcing strategy, negotiation, and contract awards within timelines and governance.
- Accurately complete procurement activity records and reports within agreed timescales.
- Analyse contractor/supplier performance and provide strategic guidance. ??
- Manage resources in supply chain/procurement activities, including setting objectives and training.
- Assist or lead in managing stakeholder relationships, including regulatory bodies.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety requirements, promoting a "safety culture." ??
- Lead initiatives to drive significant and sustained improvements.
- Promote open, non-discriminatory, and transparent competition in the supply chain.
- Provide procurement support and advice to delivery teams within assigned projects.
Below is a list of Key Skills required for the Category Manager role, however you will not be expected to have everything:
- Bachelor's degree �? in a relevant subject &/or equivalent experience of up to 10 years.
- Ideally you will hold MCIPS or alternatively be working towards this with a CIPS qualification.
- Demonstrable experience utilising the NEC suite of contracts is essential.
- Experience of Capital Projects procurement in a regulated environment is essential.
- Demonstrable experience working in the nuclear ??sector, however a background within other regulated environments will still be considered (i.e. Rail, Utilities, Water etc.).
