The Opportunity
This is a pivotal role in the efficient and timely running of the Machine Shop operation. Reporting to the Head of UK Manufacturing, the successful candidate will be responsible for organising and planning production orders to meet customer delivery requirements and ensuring cost effective planning processes and practices.
Responsibilities of Machine Shop Planner:
- Planning production orders to meet customer delivery requirements
- Releasing production orders and book in when complete
- Issuing plans to shop floor to show forward load and required dates
- Planning maintenance activities
- Facilitates make or sub-contract discussions and manages sub-contract order placement
- Reports KPI performance metrics monthly
- Communicates accurate planning information to internal customers, and takes necessary actions achieve the agreed plan
- Assist with the identifying and justification of improvement projects
The Ideal Candidate will have:
- An engineering background in manufacturing including CNC machining
- Experience of reviewing KPI's
- Experience of raising purchase requisitions
- Knowledge of MRP/ERP
- Can demonstrate perfect organisation skills, whilst working to deadlines efficiently, with high attention to detail
- Ability to work in a busy environment at a consistent pace and manage timely tasks under pressure
