A1 Personnel are currently recruiting for a Mechanical Design Trainee to join our client's team in Laindon, Essex.
The role involves the design and development of high value special purpose machinery generally for the automotive industry. Machines including Valve Seat and Guide insertion, Cam Cap assembly, Full engine Cold test and Leak test machines.
Responsibilities -
- Use of the 3D and 2D Cad Solidworks and AutoCad, Other cad software will be considered software to update and modify existing designs.
- Obtaining quotes and communicating with suppliers on technical issues.
- Liasing with various departments within the company.
- Answering queries during manufacture, build and installation.
- Preparing and maintaining documentation and records to a `Quality Operating System'.
- Preparing and maintaining PowerPoint documents for customer approval presentations
- Preparing and maintaining Excel documents for internal recording of items such as Drawing updates, issue decks, supplier specifications etc.
- Detailing, Ballooning assemblies & generating stock sheets.
Requirements -
- HNC or BEng in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent combination of qualifications and relevant experience.
- AutoCAD Rel.2000+ (desirable) and SolidWorks Rel.2012+ (desirable).
- A knowledge of BS.308 & BS.8888
- Special purpose machine tool design in the automotive industry desirable.
- Good communication skills with the ability to work as part of a team or under their own initiative.
- Microsoft Office suite typically Word, Excel and Outlook.
- Must be fluent in the English language.
