Quantity Surveyor

Our client is a Tier 1 Main Contractor with a strong presence in the construction industry, known for delivering high-quality projects across various sectors. They are currently seeking a talented and experienced Quantity Surveyor to join the team in the North West. The pipeline of projects span significant National frameworks and large-scale commercial buildings, providing a diverse and challenging work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Management: Oversee all aspects of cost management for projects, including preparation of cost plans, estimates, and budgets.
  • Contract Administration: Manage contract administration, including reviewing and preparing contract documentation, variations, and claims.
  • Procurement: Lead the procurement process for subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring value for money and adherence to company procurement policies.
  • Valuations: Prepare and submit interim valuations, final accounts, and cash flow forecasts.
  • Cost Reporting: Produce regular cost reports, identifying any variances and providing accurate financial projections.
  • Risk Management: Identify and manage project risks, implementing mitigation strategies to minimise financial exposure.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, site teams, and other stakeholders to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, industry standards, and company policies.

Requirements:

  • Education: Degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
  • Experience: Experience in Quantity Surveying, preferably with a Tier 1 Main Contractor.
  • Skills: Strong knowledge of construction contracts, excellent numerical and analytical skills, and proficiency in relevant software (e.g., MS Office, CostX, CATO).
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
  • Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to think critically and make informed decisions.
