Job Description: We are looking for an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team and work closely with students who require additional support. The ideal candidate will have experience working with children with a range of SEN, such as Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, or other learning difficulties. You will assist the classroom teacher in delivering tailored lessons, managing behaviour, and providing personalised support to ensure the students' needs are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with special educational needs (SEN).
  • Assist in implementing personalised learning plans and behaviour management strategies.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to ensure all students are fully included in classroom activities.
  • Help with classroom preparation and resource organisation, ensuring lessons are accessible for SEN students.
  • Monitor and track students' progress, reporting to teachers and parents regularly.
  • Support students' social, emotional, and educational development in a positive and nurturing environment.
  • Work with other professionals involved in the child's education, including external agencies.
  • Ensure that safeguarding and child protection protocols are strictly followed.

Qualifications:

  • Experience working with children with special educational needs (SEN) is essential.
  • Relevant qualifications such as a Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) are desirable.
  • Strong understanding of SEN support strategies, including behaviour management techniques.
  • Excellent communication skills, patience, and empathy.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and contribute to the wider school community.
