Nigel Wright are delighted to be supporting a unique and growing manufacturing business in the recruitment of a newly created role of HSE Lead. The HSE Lead will be based in Gateshead but also be responsible for sites nationally.
The Role:
The HSE Lead will be responsible for:
- Support the Group HSE Director with further establishing a positive Safety culture across the business
- Managing and developing the HSE support team
- Liaising with Internal teams to facilitate all HSE activities across headquarters and also multiple UK sites
- Development and implementation of HSE policies
- Ensure the business remains up to date and complaint in accordance to regulatory requirements
About You:

- Previous experience in an HSE lead role within a manufacturing environment, with a track record of raising standards/experience to support a business plan
- Health & Safety qualification such as NEBOSH is essential, ideally NEBOSH Diploma
- Strong knowledge of ISO Management systems including the ability to audit and manage
- Demonstrable knowledge around Environmental subjects and initiatives
- Well developed communication skills, able to give confidence and influence whilst being hands on and visible across the business
- Excellent people management skills as this role will have two direct reports
