Credit Controller

We are currently looking for a resilient and communicative Credit Controller to join our debt collection team on a 9-month fixed-term contract to cover a sabbatical. This role is ideal for someone with strong negotiation skills and the ability to handle challenging situations effectively over the phone.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Manage a portfolio of debts and ensure timely collection of payments.
- Negotiate repayment plans with debtors over the phone.
- Maintain accurate records of all chasing activity.
- Handle disputed bills and negotiate to bring payment within the agreed terms.
- Respond to client inquiries and handle tough situations with professionalism.
- Provide accurate advice on billing queries.
- Initiate legal proceedings if debts are not paid within the agreed time frame.
- Regularly making contact with customers to ensure all relevant debts are managed as necessary.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience as a Credit Controller.
- Strong ability to handle tough situations and high-stress environments.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, particularly over the phone.
- Ability to remain calm and professional when dealing with difficult debtors.
- Good attention to detail and the ability to keep accurate records.
- A proactive approach to resolving issues and outstanding payments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and any relevant financial software.
