My client is currently recruiting for a new Accounts Assistant role in Sutton.

Client Details

As an Accounts Assistant, you will be an integral part of our finance team, helping to ensure the accuracy and efficiency of our financial processes. You will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including maintaining financial records, processing invoices, and assisting with payroll and bank reconciliations. This role is ideal for someone looking to build a career in Accountancy and Finance.

Description

  • Invoice Processing: Accurately process supplier invoices, purchase orders, and expense claims, ensuring timely payment and proper coding.
  • Bank Reconciliations: Assist with the preparation and completion of bank reconciliations to ensure accurate financial records.
  • Accounts Receivable: Monitor and manage customer accounts, including issuing invoices and following up on outstanding payments.
  • Data Entry: Maintain up-to-date and accurate financial records, including inputting data into accounting systems.
  • Payroll Support: Assist with the preparation and processing of payroll, ensuring employees are paid accurately and on time.
  • Petty Cash Management: Handle petty cash transactions and maintain accurate records.
  • Expense Tracking: Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Administrative Support: Provide general administrative support to the finance team, including filing, photocopying, and responding to queries.
  • Financial Reporting: Assist with the preparation of monthly financial reports and other ad-hoc reports as required.

Profile

  • Previous experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar role is an advantage.
  • Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, Xero).
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • A proactive and team-oriented attitude with a willingness to learn and develop.
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
