Role Requirements
- Extensive knowledge of structural steelwork design, relevant design codes and design software.
- The candidate must have the ability to work on several projects at any given time and delegate work where necessary.
- The candidate must have the ability to communicate confidently and clearly with clients, Contractors, Architects and third parties.
- Experience in steelwork design using Tekla Fastrak Design Suite (Portal Frame/Building Designer/TSD/Connections/etc.) and CAD. HNL also uses the Quiksoft Suite and Bentley RAM Structural Systems 3d package.
- A successful candidate will also have the ability to produce supplementary hand calculations where necessary. The ability to produce Excel spreadsheets for design of specific details would be an advantage.
- The successful engineer will have excellent design and technical skill, have the ability to collaboratively work in a closely-knit in-house design team and lead projects from inception to completion.
- The candidate must have strong business acumen in relation to the financial aspects of schemes.
- Ability to rapidly produce tender designs suitable for production of fixed price quotations to clients.
- Ability to design all aspect of hot rolled, cold rolled and connection design.
