Our client is based in Hastings and due to their continual growth, we are delighted to be recruiting for a warehouse operative to join their team. This role has an opportunity to go permanent for the right candidate.
Main Duties
- To pick orders to be dispatched ensuring they are correct and of the required standard to meet the demands of the customer and that all relevant paperwork is completed to the standards as set out in the company policy and procedures manual.
- To liaise with colleagues to ensure sufficient product is available for production needs.
- Take receipt of deliveries, ensuring all checks and paperwork completed; where there is deviation from the required standard take the relevant action and report to a supervisor.To follow the stock rotation procedure and to report any shortages to the line manager.
- To ensure all stock is in spec USB dates and any out of spec materials are on hold.
- Liaise with couriers to ensure correct transportation of goods and ensuring all relevant paperwork is completed.
- To ensure all deliveries are labelled correctly to the standards as set out in the company policy and procedures manual.
- To complete appropriate records for orders ensuring the standards as set out in the company policy and procedures manual are maintained.
- To report maintenance requirement for machinery and work area to a supervisor.
- To fill, pack and label small orders for dispatch.
- To load and check orders onto vehicles for dispatch; acting where a discrepancy is found.
- To comply with health and safety legislation.
- Carry out duties as the management may from time to time reasonably require.
Skills
- Strong communication skills
- Experience in a similar role required
- Basic IT skills required
- Knowledge of food hygiene practice
- Counterbalance or Reach truck license desirable
