Facilities Manager

Our client, an international real estate provider are seeking a Facilities Manager to be responsible for the delivery of effective servicing of commercial buildings in Manchester.

The Facilities Manager will oversee the delivery of hard services within buildings, managing service charge budgets, staff and supplier performance, and compliance on site. Strong communication, budgeting skills, and experience in managing large or multi-site environments are essential.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service and maintain communication with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Supervise site staff, ensuring HR policies are followed and procedures are in place.
  • Oversee suppliers, ensuring work meets SLAs and is compliant with safety regulations.
  • Manage mechanical and electrical (M&E) services, including life safety systems, elevators, and public health systems.
  • Prepare management reports and attend/chair management meetings as required Manage service charge budgets and approving expenditures
  • Procure goods and services, manage capital replacement programs, and work with consultants to achieve project goals.
  • Conduct regular building inspections, prepare reports, and ensure health, safety, and environmental compliance.
  • Ensure security protocols and emergency procedures are in place and followed.

Ideal Candidates Experience:

  • Previous experience in facilities management, including managing multi-site environments or single sites.
  • Strong understanding of commercial leases, landlord-tenant relationships, and large service charge budgets.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills, building strong relationships to ensure teams provide effective service delivery.
  • Strong knowledge of M&E systems.
  • Extensive knowledge of health, safety, and environmental regulations & hold an IOSH/NEBOSH.
  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken, with proficiency in MS Office.
