We are currently seeking a System Engineer to join our Corporate Systems team at the Client. This role is crucial for the planning, design, development, integration, commissioning, and testing of systems. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering technology solutions that align with the agreed specifications for elements of broadcast projects.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Play a key role within the engineering team in the planning, design, development, integration, commission, and testing of systems.
  • Deliver technology solutions that meet the agreed specifications for elements of broadcast projects.
  • Collaborate with project, product, and technical leads, contractors, and manufacturers to design media systems and create implementable solutions to technical requirements.
  • May include elements of system operational development and support.
  • Identify and implement technical innovations and developments to meet business needs and functional requirements, ensuring desired levels of resilience.
  • Prepare project documentation and contribute to project plans.
  • Write and review test specifications and test plans within the project team, ensuring clarity and comprehensive coverage of agreed functionality.
  • Take ownership of specific small project elements, meeting time, cost, and quality targets for their delivery.
  • Conduct and oversee testing of new installations, maintaining accurate test logs/registers.
  • Maintain knowledge of industry and competitor developments to facilitate the introduction of new technologies where appropriate.
  • Liaise with project managers and support staff to enable effective and informed reporting.
  • Communicate technical information clearly to non-technical stakeholders, either verbally or in written form.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in system engineering within a relevant field.
  • Ability to design and implement technical solutions for broadcast or media systems.
  • Experience in project documentation, test specification, and planning.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical staff.
  • A proactive approach to learning new technologies and introducing them appropriately.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders, including project managers, technical leads, and non-technical staff.
