Job Specification
- Setting operating and programming at the panel of the machine with assistance of Autocad all machines have Heidenhain controls
- Using and controlling CNC programs according to relevant procedures.
- Reading and understanding all manufacturing instructions prior to commencing an operation.
- Being able to read and understand CNC code for machine set up and operation.
- Understanding varying set up parameters and their effects on the process (i.e., datum setting, tool length, wear offsets, speeds and feeds).
- Setting up machines with the required work holding and tooling according to relevant procedures.
- Reading and understanding the requirements on the Job Card for the operation to be completed.
- Reading and understanding all manufacturing instructions prior to commencing an operation.
- Carrying out in process inspection in accordance with relevant inspection plans to ensure conformity.
- To be able to produce job within a specified time
Basic Skills required:
- Read technical drawings and various other specs and verbal instructions to execute machining and forming requirement
- Familiar with programming CNC machines with Heidenhain controls
- Familiar with machining techniques
- Use of appropriate cutting tools for material and machine type
- Familiar with commonly used Quality Management processes
Duties and responsibilities
- Operating various milling machines
- Use of accurate measuring tools and devices
- Use of measuring equipment, basic mathematical skills to work out needed dimensions
- Basic record keeping, to allow traceability ISO9001
- Basic maintenance machinery employed
Specialised skills
- Knowledge of material behaviour during machining
- Safe working practice knowledge for type of operation
