Finance Officer
- Annual Salary: £27k + study support for professional exam

We are seeking a dedicated Finance Officer to join our team. This role is ideal for candidates with a recent accounting practice background who are eager to advance their career in the industry or charity sector. The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of financial tasks and will have the opportunity to work on ad-hoc projects.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Managing supplier invoicing and payments.
- Handling bi-weekly payment runs for suppliers and staff/volunteer expenses.
- Conducting sales invoicing and cash allocations (non-rental).
- Reconciling supplier statements.
- Assisting with monthly reconciliations of control and balance sheet accounts.
- Posting monthly journals and banking cheques.
- Maintaining the petty cash system and issuing customer refunds.
- Maintaining and reconciling the purchase ledger and assisting with the sales ledger in QuickBooks.
- Sending out supplier statements and addressing queries.
- Contributing to ad-hoc projects as required.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Excellent working knowledge of QuickBooks and intermediate Excel skills.
- Working towards AAT, CIMA, CIPFA, ACCA qualification or finalist, or possessing extensive commercial or third sector experience.
- Strong reconciliation skills and attention to detail.
- Good analytical skills and excellent communication abilities.
- Team player who is organised and can use their own initiative.
- Understanding of financial concepts such as profit & loss, assets & liabilities.
- Ability to cope under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role.
