Battery Build Technician (Contract)

Their cutting-edge technology leads the way in providing hybrid and all-electric propulsion solutions for Urban Air Mobility (UAM), Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), and General Aviation (GA).
Purpose of the Job
To carry out manufacturing, testing, and inspection tasks on high-integrity batteries within our manufacturing facility, adhering to product certification procedures, allocated budgets, and project timelines.
Principal Accountabilities/Key Result Areas:
- Assemble high voltage, high integrity battery systems according to predefined instructions.
- Prepare, build, and validate sub-components.
- Operate adhesive dispensing and ultrasonic wire-bond machines.
- Build mechanical assemblies and fit PCBs and electrical harnesses.
- Kit components for assembly and maintain build records for full traceability.
- Contribute to the development of battery build processes and risk assessments.
- Assist in the setup of battery build facilities and equipment.
- Raise non-conformance reports as needed.
- Comply with company Health, Safety, and Environmental Policies to ensure a safe working environment.
- Perform other duties as required.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment.
- Flexible approach to work with a positive, "can do" attitude.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Proficiency in MS Office suite (Jira & Confluence advantageous).
- Comfortable working with high voltage.
- Ability to read and adhere to written and verbal instructions.
- Experience working within a quality management system.
- Strong attention to detail and good manual dexterity.
- Ability to prioritize a varied workload.
- Desire to thrive in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
Desirable:
- Experience in machine operation and mechanical assembly.
- City & Guilds, HNC, or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline.
- Basic electrical understanding.
- Aerospace manufacturing experience is advantageous but not essential.
