My client is an innovative company, established in 2021, dedicated to commercializing next-generation electric motor technology and intellectual property for the emerging electrification aerospace market. Their cutting-edge technology leads the way in providing hybrid and all-electric propulsion solutions for Urban Air Mobility (UAM), Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), and General Aviation (GA).

Purpose of the Job

To carry out manufacturing, testing, and inspection tasks on high-integrity batteries within our manufacturing facility, adhering to product certification procedures, allocated budgets, and project timelines.

Principal Accountabilities/Key Result Areas:

  • Assemble high voltage, high integrity battery systems according to predefined instructions.
  • Prepare, build, and validate sub-components.
  • Operate adhesive dispensing and ultrasonic wire-bond machines.
  • Build mechanical assemblies and fit PCBs and electrical harnesses.
  • Kit components for assembly and maintain build records for full traceability.
  • Contribute to the development of battery build processes and risk assessments.
  • Assist in the setup of battery build facilities and equipment.
  • Raise non-conformance reports as needed.
  • Comply with company Health, Safety, and Environmental Policies to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Proven experience in a manufacturing/engineering environment.
  • Flexible approach to work with a positive, "can do" attitude.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite (Jira & Confluence advantageous).
  • Comfortable working with high voltage.
  • Ability to read and adhere to written and verbal instructions.
  • Experience working within a quality management system.
  • Strong attention to detail and good manual dexterity.
  • Ability to prioritize a varied workload.
  • Desire to thrive in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.

Desirable:

  • Experience in machine operation and mechanical assembly.
  • City & Guilds, HNC, or equivalent qualification in an engineering discipline.
  • Basic electrical understanding.
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience is advantageous but not essential.
