Our prestigious client in Basildon is looking to recruit a permanent Road Freight Trainee.
As the Road Freight Trainee you will be responsible for processing of groupage shipments, liaising with clients and understanding their needs and expectations ensuring these are met in a timely manner. You will be assisting senior members of staff and working within a team environment to maximise the profits for all business departments.
Duties will include:
- Creating and processing of Groupage shipments on your assigned services
- Assisting your Supervisor/Manager and colleagues by creating bookings, providing customer assistance, invoicing and undertaking general daily duties relating to the associated department.
- Ensuring client's needs and expectations are met and where possible exceeded in a timely and cost-effective manner
- Together with your colleagues, assisting with the development of the department
- Assisting the CCT department in customs clearance of exports & imports
- Working with the Management & Directors to maximise the profits for both department and Company as a whole
- Creating jobs and manifests in Navitas
- Invoicing and obtaining and preparing of documents for our Customs team to process
- Liaising with our overseas agents and providing excellent Customer Service, using emails and phones as appropriate
Key skills required:
- Proven experience in working in an office environment
- GCSE Grade 5 and above in English & Maths
- Willingness to learn
- Excellent Customer Service skills as you will be dealing with clients from the UK and Europe.
- Be in the knowledge that the role requires the post holder to deal with European Customers
Hours of work: 9:00am - 17:30pm Monday to Friday.
