We have an exciting opportunity for a SHE Advisor to join SSE's Smart Buildings Team, this role is central to maintaining and developing working practices on site, which ensure a safe and environmentally friendly environment.

Sitting within our Group SHE Function, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting SHE delivery for SSE Smart Buildings team, which is part of the Energy Customer Solutions business unit.

As well as the above, other responsibilities will include:

  • Drive SSE's SHE strategy, support its day-to-day delivery and provide assurance so that SSE operates to keep people, the environment, and assets safe and healthy.
  • Establishing, and communicating appropriate operational standards and processes, and ensuring communications and training are consistent to ensure the Business SHE risks are appropriately controlled.
  • Build and maintain firm relationships with the SSE Smart Buildings Senior Management Team and with key stakeholders including Regulatory Authorities Customers, Client and Site Operational teams.
  • Promoting the relevant health, safety and environment policies and standards across

What do I need?

To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:

  • NEBOSH Diploma/Certificate or relevant equivalent and be able to demonstrate practice of knowledge through experience
  • Sound knowledge and application of Health & Safety legislation, in particular Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015
  • Technical Member (TechIOSH) of IOSH or equivalent professional body, preferable working towards Chartered status
  • Ability to identify and analyse complex technical issues and understand risks in order to provide appropriate solutions
  • Driving License is essential for the role due to requirements to travel across the UK.
