Reed Education is seeking a dynamic Design Technology Teacher to join a secondary school in Kirkham on a long-term basis starting in September. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of the curriculum, effective communication skills, and a dedication to creating an engaging learning environment.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Delivering Design Technology lessons to KS3 and KS4 students, with KS5 being an advantage.
- Creating a stimulating classroom environment that promotes learning and engagement.
- Developing and implementing lesson plans that meet curriculum standards.
- Assessing and recording student progress and providing feedback to foster improvement.
- Managing classroom behaviour effectively to ensure a good learning environment.
- Being a positive role model for students, demonstrating compassion, trustworthiness, and good listening skills.
- Collaborating with colleagues and participating in school events and activities.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Must have QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or equivalent.
- Recent relevant experience of teaching Design Technology at KS3 and KS4, with KS5 being an advantage.
- Excellent classroom practitioner with strong subject knowledge and classroom management skills.
- Reliable, committed, and interested in working with students.
- Good interpersonal skills, punctuality, patience, and confidence when working with children.
