Contract: Permanent - Full-time
We are looking for a Trainee Careers Adviser to work across the Slough area through the National Careers Service. You will help young people and adults to build the skills and confidence they need to move into sustainable education, employment or training.
In this Trainee Careers Adviser role
- You will receive comprehensive training, including a fully funded qualification in Careers Information Advice and Guidance.
- You will have extensive work shadowing, practical experience, and on-the-job training.
You must also be able to build effective and professional relationships with individual clients, have a non-judgmental attitude, and desire to support people in fulfilling their potential.
Qualifications and Experience
Essential
- Maths and English at GCSE Grade C or above
- A commitment to complete the training for the role, including the professional IAG qualification
- You must also be able to build effective and professional relationships with individual clients, have a non-judgmental attitude, and desire to support people in fulfilling their potential.
- A commitment to undertake all necessary training for the role
- Experience of working with people from a diverse range of backgrounds
- Experience in managing a caseload of adults/young people to meet targeted outcomes
- All appointees will be subject to an enhanced DBS Check.
Desirable
- An awareness of the issues affecting people, particularly the impact of social and economic disadvantage on personal motivation, confidence and ability to progress through education, employment and training
