I'm currently working with a leading food business that supplies some of the UK's largest retailers, including Aldi, Tesco, Morrisons, and Asda. They are looking for a Specification Technologist to join their expanding Technical team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail and a passion for ensuring the highest food quality standards.

The Role:
As a Specification Technologist, you'll be the go-to person for developing and maintaining product specifications. Working closely with both suppliers and customers, you will ensure that all specifications meet both legal and customer requirements and are delivered on time. Key responsibilities include:

  • Liaising with suppliers and customers to create and modify product specifications that meet all required standards.
  • Generating pack copy specifications for new product launches and redesigns, ensuring all deadlines are met according to the project's critical path.
  • Ensuring the full completion of all specification sections, including QCPs, CCPs, and finished product standards, with all necessary documentation attached.
  • Maintaining existing specifications through regular review programs, ensuring compliance before customer audits.
  • Assisting the Technical Manager with internal and customer specification checks.
  • Supporting the Technical team with tasks like packaging and sending samples for analysis.
  • Helping with the compilation of supplier information for KPI reporting and contributing to improvements in the Quality Management System.

What You'll Bring:

  • Strong attention to detail and an organised approach to managing specifications.
  • Excellent communication skills, enabling you to work effectively with suppliers, customers, and internal teams.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet critical deadlines.
  • Experience in the food industry and familiarity with technical specifications is highly desirable, but they are also open to those looking to develop their skills in this area.

What's in it for You?

  • The chance to work with leading retailers and contribute to exciting product launches.
  • Be part of a collaborative team committed to upholding the highest quality standards.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • A supportive environment offering training and opportunities for personal and professional growth.

If this sounds like the next step in your career or you're looking for a fresh challenge, please get in touch! I'd be happy to discuss the role further and provide more details. Don't miss out on this excellent opportunity to grow with a well-respected company.
