Cover Manager

We are seeking a dedicated Cover Manager to join a vibrant secondary school in Corby. This role is crucial for ensuring the smooth operation of the school by managing daily cover requirements and acting as a key communication link between staff and supply agencies.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Coordinate the school's daily cover requirements to ensure classes are covered in the absence of teachers.
- Liaise between teaching staff, support staff, and supply agencies to arrange suitable cover and maintain meticulous records.
- Assist in the recruitment and selection process for new staff, including advertising vacancies, shortlisting candidates, and coordinating interviews.
- Organize cover for absent teaching staff using SIMS/NOVA T, authorizing agency invoices, and managing online agency timesheets as needed.
- Maintain and actively seek new additions to the teaching supply list to ensure a high-quality pool of substitutes.
- Monitor daily staff absences through reporting systems and plan cover in advance for seamless operations.
- Keep the School Outlook Calendar updated with all relevant information.
- Ensure all administrative activities comply with school policies and procedures.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience in a similar role within a school setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using computer software, particularly SIMS/NOVA T, is advantageous.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to multitask effectively.
- A proactive approach to absence management and cover coordination.
