A heavily organisation and schedule focused role, the successful applicant will be the organisational face and voice of the business and be able to combine their ability on the telephone, with an efficient and organised administrative background to enjoy this rounded opportunity.
A calming, but confident and logical approach to communicating with people both internally and externally, with proven background in a similar role would certainly be essential - the role has a seriously proactive side, with the forward planning to spot problems and risks before they happen, dealing with all transport and logistics queries, routing, planning and scheduling for your specific geography.
Key duties include:
- Daily UK and European planning of all deliveries and associated transportation challenges.
- Working closely with other departments in the business including Warehouse, Shipping and Customs.
- Planning routes and scheduling delivery teams, whilst ensuring that all drivers are compliant with driving hours rules.
- Allocate resources and attendees, alongside relevant modes of transportation accordingly.
- Providing customers with quotes on both domestic and international transport.
- Liaise extensively with internal project teams to resolve customer problems where escalations occur and plan for future projects as they arise.
