Financial Accountant - 6 month contract
- Location : The City Of London
- 6 month contract
- Day rate : £260 PAYE
- Hybrid working 3 days office based / 2 days WFH
The main duties include:
- Makes accurate GL entries for all daily accounting activities
- Investigates reconciliation issues and balance mismatches / queries.
- Ensures all accounting entries are tied to supporting documentation and that narratives and descriptions are accurate.
- Works closely with Marketing Officer and external accountants to understand and document the accounting treatment of new deals booked in Germany and prepares the transaction upload for accounting system.
- Prepares the monthly VAT and GST returns for review.
- Assists with preparation of quarterly reporting packs, management accounts and reconciliations
- Assists with preparation of audited financial statements
- Secondary point of contact for external auditors
- Ensure UK's ledgers are accurate and all balances are supported by full and robust reconciliations
- Ensure all filing deadlines (VAT, Financial Reporting etc) are met
Skills/Experience required
- Part or fully qualified chartered accountant with strong knowledge of IFRS
- Financial Services experience preferable
- Good Excel and analytical skills
- German GAAP knowledge is desirable
- The ability to manage lots of tasks simultaneously.
- Have the confidence and gravitas to step in for more senior staff during periods of holiday and leave.
