This is a great opportunity for an experienced Payroll Assistant to join a leading Retail Brand and part of their busy Payroll and HR team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an exciting, high-growth brand with stores across the UK & Ireland and a huge presence across wholesale & e-commerce. The manager requires a passionate payroll assistant who is highly organised, eye to detail and eager to keep learning and developing.

The role;

You will be responsible for ensuring all information is correct and reconciled ready for the 3rd Party Payroll to run on time. Monthly payroll x 2 a month (6th & 28th)

  • Processing payroll for 1200 employees across UK and Ireland across Stores and Head Office.
  • Collect and input all required new starter documentation such as P45, HMRC New Starter Checklist, bank details etc.
  • Support with maintaining the payroll processing system and records by gathering, calculating, and inputting data
  • Identifying, investigating, and resolving discrepancies in timesheet and payroll records
  • Action all necessary work in relation to Salary/Rates, Pensions, Statutory Sick Pay, Statutory Maternity Pay, Statutory Paternity Pay, Holiday pay, general absence etc.
  • Answering staff and line manager questions about wages, deductions, attendance, and time records.
  • Support the wider HR team with general day to day queries when required to help during busy times.
  • Work with the wider HR team to ensure all HMRC and Tax communications are processed and dealt with in a timely manner including end of year P11d's
  • Work with the teams to generate payroll reporting that managers or the Head of HR may require on a monthly and ad-hoc basis.
  • Logging of sickness on the payroll systems to allow for ongoing reporting and monitoring

Key Skills;

  • Minimum 2 years Payroll experience
  • Processed 1000+ employee payroll - essential
