Business Analyst - IT Security

Would you like to join a global business who are literally building for the future? Due to expansion across the team, and the development of a new security capability, we are recruiting for an experience Business Analyst with experience in IT Security.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Information Technology, Cyber and Information Security. You will be collaborating with a global team, including project managers, directors, and business stakeholders, to support the Information Security strategy. The role demands a proactive individual with excellent analytical skills and the ability to simplify complex IT concepts for non-technical stakeholders.

This role is based in the Newcastle office 3 days per week.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of business requirements, evaluating the practicality, required resources, and integration with current systems.
  • Work in partnership with stakeholders to evaluate the implications of new security policies and ensure that business processes and security controls are effective and appropriate.
  • Facilitate and lead workshops with stakeholders to establish consensus on Information Security policies, processes, and requirements.
  • Collaborate with project teams to outline project parameters including scope, budget, timelines, resources, risks, and deliverables.
  • Engage in the identification, definition, and mapping of business processes, and contribute to the design of business operations to enhance and support activities.
  • Utilise a variety of techniques to extract requirements, such as interviews, document analysis, workshops, and business process modelling.
  • Translate business needs into detailed user stories or functional specifications for the development team to implement.
  • Confirm the importance of key business requirements and collaborate with various teams to ensure solutions meet business needs.
  • Maintain open communication with stakeholders to align on business strategies and upcoming initiatives.
  • Develop internal and external business communications and oversee User Acceptance Testing (UAT).

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven BA experience.
  • Expertise in eliciting, analysing, and documenting requirements.
  • Proficiency in business process identification, definition, and mapping.
  • Experience in organizing and conducting workshops.
  • Ability to create comprehensive UAT scripts.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies is preferred.
  • A bachelor's degree in IT or business management is beneficial.
  • Experience or qualifications in NIST Cybersecurity Framework, Cyber Essentials Plus, ISO 27001 is an advantage.
