Horizon Teachers is seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEND Teaching Assistant to join a forward-thinking and inclusive school in Reigate. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is committed to supporting children with diverse learning needs, ensuring they receive the tailored assistance they require to thrive both academically and socially.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEND, under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCO.
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and support strategies.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment.
- Help students develop social skills and confidence.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to monitor student progress and adapt support as needed.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of best practices for supporting SEND students.
The Ideal Candidate Will:
- Have previous experience working with children with SEND, particularly within an educational setting.
- Hold a relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent).
- Possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be patient, empathetic, and enthusiastic about supporting children with special needs.
- Be adaptable and able to work effectively within a team.
