Back Of House Coordinator

We're currently recruiting a dedicated Back of House (BOH) Coordinator to help ensure the smooth running of the BOH function and to support our kitchen team. As a BOH Coordinator you will be working alongside our chefs and kitchen to efficiently manage stock; orders, stock take and deliveries. You will assist in our planning to ensure we use the best suppliers in the best way, with the right stock at the right time. We'll also be asking you to work closely with the wider kitchen team to lead on COSHH practices, and lead on our cleaning and maintenance schedules.

The role is contracted to 40 hours per week, working 5 days out of 7, primarily Monday to Friday.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Process orders via nominated systems and use the correct approved Chartwells vendors
  • Check invoices and delivery notes, and report and anomalies to your line manager
  • Supervise the receipt, correct storage and quality of food supply
  • Oversee and monitor all stocktaking procedures, ensuring minimal risk of waste by complying with the company's profit protection guidelines. Build and monitor par levels of key stock lines
  • Liaise with onsite team to ensure the best use of stock onsite
  • Follow correct processes and procedures on invoicing and stock transfers
  • Ensure correct disposal of all waste, adhering to all environmental and company policies
  • Ensure clean and tidy storage areas for all stock
  • Responsible for an equipment maintenance logs and reporting all broken equipment to nominated suppliers, following up where required
  • Implement the COSHH management plans, and act as the COSHH ambassador within the kitchen team, sharing knowledge and best practice
  • Implement the cleaning schedule, working with the KP team to monitor standards and ensure best practice
  • Support the kitchen team by sharing allergen information on new and existing stock lines

  • Be prepared to assist colleagues in a willing and positive manner, including assisting with other duties and other units
  • Computer literate and able to use web-based stock systems and Microsoft programs.

Essential Criteria:

  • Previous experience in a similar back of house / stores role.
  • Clean Full UK driving licence.
  • Must be over 18 years old due to company insurance.
  • Microsoft proficient – use of Outlook, Teams and Excel.

Desirable Criteria:

  • Previous experience in a catering/ hospitality environment.
