We are seeking a dedicated General Teacher with a passion for special education to join our SEN school in Middlesbrough. The ideal candidate will have experience working in an SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) setting and possess the relevant qualifications to support our unique student population.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver lesson plans that meet the individual needs of students with SEMH.
  • Create a supportive and engaging learning environment that encourages students to achieve their full potential.
  • Use a variety of teaching strategies to maintain active learning and promote positive behaviour.
  • Assess and record students' progress, preparing reports and attending parent-teacher meetings as required.
  • Collaborate with other staff members to implement and adapt the curriculum to the needs of students with SEMH.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to further enhance teaching skills and SEN knowledge.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A recognised teaching qualification.
  • Proven experience in an SEMH setting or similar SEN environment.
  • Strong understanding of the challenges faced by students with SEMH.
  • Ability to differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development in the field of special education.
