Location: Handforth

Contract Type: Temporary, Full Time

Working Pattern: Monday - Friday

Salary: £12.50 to £13.50 per hour

Overtime: Not frequently available, but when undertaken, it will be compensated at 1.5x of the standard rate

Duration: 3 months (starting ASAP)

Responsibilities:

  • Accepting incoming goods and comparing them with the shipping documents, ensuring accuracy of material number, description, and quantity.
  • Checking incoming goods for any visible damage and documenting the findings as necessary.
  • Ensuring the correct use of transport equipment, including hand-guided industrial trucks and forklifts.
  • Capturing relevant data in data processing systems, such as SAP.
  • Organising the acceptance, storage, commissioning, and removal of goods in the storage area, while maintaining accurate records.
  • Conducting regular stock maintenance and inventory to ensure accurate stock levels.
  • Assembling deliveries from designated storage compartments and verifying completeness and accuracy.
  • Packaging deliveries in accordance with shipping instructions, common dispatch methods, and relevant regulations (e.g., Dangerous Goods).
  • Adding appropriate shipping documents to outgoing goods.
  • Completing transports internally and externally, utilising appropriate means of transportation as required.

Requirements:

  • Valid forklift licence (ride-on and pedestrian style).
  • Experience using SAP or similar inventory management systems.
  • Attention to detail and ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organisational skills to manage stock maintenance and inventory.
  • Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members.
  • Health and safety awareness and commitment to promoting a safe working environment.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
