Are you a seasoned 2nd line IT technician with a knack for networking? We're searching for a talented individual to join our dynamic team on a full-time, permanent basis.

About the Role:

As an IT Technician, you'll be our tech guru, ensuring seamless operations and providing top-notch support to both schools and businesses. Your experience and knowledge of these sectors will be invaluable. We're looking for someone who aligns with our company ethos and brings a positive, proactive attitude.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Offer technical support for computer hardware, software, and network issues.
  • Install, configure, and maintain computer systems and software applications.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software problems promptly.
  • Set up and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks like system updates, backups, and security patches.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access rights.
  • Respond to IT support tickets, ensuring timely resolution and proper escalation.
  • Document technical procedures and troubleshooting steps for reference and training.
  • Collaborate with IT team members on projects and initiatives.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to recommend improvements.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 3 year's experience as an IT Technician or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux), and software applications.
  • Expertise in firewall management, network design, infrastructure, and server vitalisation.
  • Experience with LANs and system administration tasks.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting technical issues.
  • Familiarity with network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.).
  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Relevant certifications (CompTIA A+, Network+, or Microsoft Certified IT Professional) are a plus.
  • Flexibility to work outside regular business hours for maintenance, upgrades, or emergencies.
  • Full driving license and access to a vehicle for on-site visits around the North West.

Additional Information:

Successful candidates will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
A proactive, reliable, and hands-on attitude is essential.
