Location - Maidstone, Kent

Salary - Up to £37,000 depending upon experience

Hours - Monday to Thursday 08:30 - 17:00 and Friday 08:30 - 14:30

We have an amazing opportunity in Maidstone for a Warehouse Manager to work for one of our most prominent clients. In this role, you will be working full-time.

Responsibilities for the role of Warehouse Manager

  • Manage and coordinate the efficient picking and packing of customer orders (picking, final finish, packaging, checking, loading, and administration).
  • Oversee 'goods in' (unloading, checking, storing, and administration) from suppliers.
  • Produce samples promptly in line with customer requirements, working closely with Marketing.
  • Ensure the safe operation of warehouse forklifts, counterbalance, and pallet pedestrian trucks under correct and safe working guidelines.
  • Operate the tint machine under correct and safe working guidelines while coordinating with purchasing to source required tints promptly and efficiently, reducing write-offs.
  • Manage the storing and rotating stock according to company procedures, optimising the process to minimise stock write-offs.
  • Accountable for all warehouse and building areas, both inside and outside, maintaining and enhancing them as needed.
  • Oversee overall productivity within the goods in and goods out departments, maximising space and supporting business growth.
  • Manage and improve team and personal KPI performance levels to maximise operational efficiency and environment.
  • Advise, lead, mentor, coach, motivate, and work on a PDP for each team member.
  • Manage the warehouse weekly rota, ensuring that mandatory breaks are implemented to comply with working time regulations and support team welfare.
  • Deliver key warehouse projects from inception to completion (inventory locations, warehouse investment plans, cage area, etc.) with approved project plans, within budget and on time to support business growth.
  • Conduct budget planning monthly for the following year and spend according to budget promptly.
  • Manage and assist with inventory alongside Purchasing and Sales to ensure accurate and correct inventory levels at all times and zero backorders.
  • Rotate inventory to ensure no stock goes out of date, following FIFO.
  • Manage the warehouse team to ensure industry-leading productivity and efficiency.
  • Be a team player with a focus on promoting a positive and friendly environment, with a clear understanding of each warehouse staff member's expectations, empowering the team and recognising great work.
  • Be solutions-oriented with an exceptional problem-solving attitude to react and plan for the future, enhancing the customer journey and complementing product quality by being customer-focused.
  • Conduct accurate budget planning and spending.

Skills and Experience for the Role of Warehouse Manager

  • GCSE in Math, English and IT literate (Excel, Word, Outlook, Microsoft AX 365)
  • Interpersonal skills - the ability to work well in a team and be a good team player/leader of people.
  • Experienced with a good understanding of warehouse activities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working collaboratively with other departments ensuring all orders are completed to a high standard.
  • Flexible and enthusiastic approach to work, willing to go the 'extra mile' for the company and their team.
  • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail, minimising mistakes or resolving to alleviate becoming a problem.
  • Well organised, conscientious, and reliable.
  • A good understanding of enforcing the use of appropriate PPE and general health and safety in a warehouse environment to remain complicit to regulations and alleviate accidents.
  • Valid Forklift & Pump Truck License.
  • Minim 2 years' worth of experience in the same or similar role required.
