Job Title: Finance Director
Location: Camberwell, SE5
My client is seeking a qualified, fractional Finance Director to work 1 day a week in their SE5 office on an interim basis. The role pays £450-£500 a day outside IR35. All sector backgrounds considered as long as the experience is focussed on raising capital.
Job Summary: The Finance Director will be responsible for overseeing all financial aspects of the company, with a strong emphasis on fundraising activities. This includes developing and executing strategies to secure capital from various sources, managing relationships with investors, financial institutions, and other stakeholders, and ensuring the financial health and sustainability of the business.
Key Responsibilities:

Fundraising and Capital Management:

Develop and implement comprehensive fundraising strategies to secure capital from equity, debt, and alternative financing sources.

Identify potential investors, venture capitalists, and financial partners to support the company's growth objectives.

Prepare and present compelling business cases, financial models, and investment proposals to potential investors.

Negotiate terms and conditions of financing agreements to ensure favourable terms for the company.

Manage investor relations and maintain strong, ongoing communication with current and potential investors.

Financial Strategy and Planning:

Develop and execute the company's financial strategy in alignment with overall business goals.

Oversee financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis to support strategic decision-making.

Monitor financial performance, analyse variances, and recommend corrective actions to achieve financial targets.

Financial Operations and Reporting:

Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including preparation of financial statements, management reports, and compliance with regulatory requirements.

Oversee cash flow management, working capital optimization, and financial risk management.

Implement and maintain robust financial controls and processes to safeguard company assets.

Team Leadership and Development:

Lead and mentor the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.

Provide strategic guidance and support to other departments on financial matters.

Compliance and Risk Management:

Ensure compliance with all financial regulations, standards, and best practices.

Identify and mitigate financial risks through proactive risk management strategies.
Qualifications:
- Qualified Accountant
- Proven experience as a Finance Director, CFO, or in a similar senior finance role, preferably within a small business or startup environment.
- Demonstrated success in raising capital and securing financing from various sources.
- Strong financial modelling, analysis, and presentation skills.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- In-depth knowledge of corporate finance, financial planning, and risk management.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools, including ERP systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Strategic thinker with strong problem-solving abilities and a hands-on approach.
