Construction Manager

My client is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead a major Power Generation Project, focusing on delivering the main control rooms. This role is ideal for a professional with a strong background in Mechanical Installation projects and fit out projects involving high compliance.

The role is initially remote or hybrid working and then will be on site in Somerset from the New Year. The company offers living away allowance as part of the package.

The project in a Complex energy role valued with a first phase valued at £3million but further work to be scheduled in.

As the Construction Manager you will:

Lead and manage a site team to deliver mechanical, electrical, and carpentry works, ensuring the highest quality standards.

Set standards and benchmarks, identifying quality problems before works start and instigating changes to achieve and deliver quality.

Apply in-depth knowledge of quality processes, communicate these within the project, and draft, review, and approve quality documents.

Sequence work appropriately, apply protection measures to avoid damage to completed works, and manage the client through inspection and handover processes.

Adopt a culture of continuous improvement, share lessons learned across projects, and monitor productivity and costs to ensure successful outcomes.

Deliver completion strategy for the project, ensuring all works are correctly planned and monitor progress to meet handover deadlines.

For this role you will need delivery experience, managing a workforce of at least 30+ operatives in a direct delivery project.

Good experience delivery projects in the Construction sector with experience in mechanical equipment installation.

You will need strong communication skills and good experience in developing method statements, health & Safety, Risk assessments etc.

Relevant Professional Accreditation (PM, Construction, Engineering).
