We are actively recruiting for a Caretaker in Hulme and surrounding areas in Greater Manchester as necessary.
The role is to provide an effective, responsive and proactive caretaking and cleaning service for a social housing tower block in Hulme. Contributing to the security and well being of residents and the maintenance of the companies estate and properties.
Key responsibilities and accountabilities
- Ensure that properties, communal areas and external grounds are safe, secure, clean and well maintained using a hands on approach via routine inspections and rapid response to incidents including out of hours
- Undertake minor repairs and remedial work to communal areas of properties, and to promptly report all other defects, hazards and repairs
- Contribute to the security and wellbeing of tenants and leaseholders by being a reassuring presence and acting as a first point of contact for assistance
- Build and maintain a positive and productive relationship with partners to ensure that issues are communicated and any operational difficulties are overcome
- Support the work of the Neighbourhood teams in the promotion of the scheme and services available
- Ensure that resident participation and involvement is actively promoted
- Adhere to company health and safety procedures and guidelines and take responsibility for dealing with any potential health and safety hazards
It is working on an ongoing basis, initially for several months, but this can easily be extended at any time. The hours are Monday to Friday 35 hours per week on days. The rate of pay is £16.22 per hour.
You must also hold a full U.K. driving licence to be considered for this role.
