Assistant Management Accountant

My client is looking for a Management Accountant to join their growing finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management accounts, bank sheet reconciliations, variance analysis and have good excel knowledge.

Description

The role of the management accountant will include but will not be limited to the below -

Job Purpose:

Preparation of timely and accurate management accounts and reports and maintaining control over balance sheet accounts.

The role involves working closely with operational managers in both providing and obtaining information.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Responsibility for achieving internal and external deadlines.
  • Work closely with the Senior Management Accountant to ensure department targets are achieved.
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and customer reports.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets.
  • Responsibility for coding and categorising costs (E.g. capex & extra to contract) to meet customer requirements.
  • Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Control of WIP Balance sheet account.
  • Preparation of VAT Returns.
  • Respond to requests for information and analysis from operations colleagues.
  • Deal with ad hoc customer requests within required deadlines.
  • Prepare audit files and assist external auditors during fieldwork.
  • Review management accounts against budget and produce commentary on variances.
  • Liaise with group finance teams to agree intercompany recharges and balances.
  • Support and train team members.

Profile

The successful candidate will embody the below -

  • The role would suit a Part Qualified Accountant or QBE who has experience within a busy Finance function.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills are required.
  • Ability to communication effectively with key stakeholders internal and external.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent IT skills with good knowledge of MS Office.
  • Experience of SUN / MS Dynamics preferable.
