Job Title: Assistant Management AccountantLocation: Watford (Hybrid)Salary: Up to £48,000 per annumJob Description:
Opportunity in Watford with a rapidly growing business for an Assistant Management Accountant. This hybrid role offers remote and office work flexibility. The successful candidate will handle various accounting tasks, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform month-end closing procedures, including accruals, prepayments, and journal entries.
- Manage deferred and accrued income, and maintain the fixed asset register.
- Analyse and reconcile balance sheet accounts, and investigate and resolve reconciling items.
- Analyse cost-of-goods-sold and operating expenses, and prepare cost center reports.
- Approve expense reports.
- Reconcile intercompany accounts and prepare customer rebate claims.
- Prepare monthly management packs and conduct variance analysis.
- Assist with cashflow management and the preparation of statutory financial statements.
- Assist with pensions and payroll reconciliation.
- Prepare and review VAT returns and EC Sales List for different entities.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a similar financial accounting role.
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills.
