Location: Peterborough office based near Woodston

Job Type: Full Time Permanent

Hours / Days: Monday to Friday 0830 to 1700 hours

Salary: £30,000 to £35,000 DOE

Our client is a leading home security company and have been installing home security systems since 1993. They specialise in Burglar alarms, CCTV & 24-Hour Monitoring, Fire Alarms, Security Lighting, Emergency Lighting, Access Control and Repairs and Maintenance.

The opportunity is for an experienced Accounts Manager to work as part of a small in-house team. Keen to roll up your sleeves and assist in the development of a wide variety of tasks, you will be given excellent opportunities to build on existing skills in accounting. We are looking for an enthusiastic and focused individual who is looking for a career in the security industry. The ideal candidate will have a problem solving 'can do attitude' and as Accounts Manager your work will include working closely with the team and Managing Directors.

This role is perfect for someone with a high-level attention to detail, who is proactive and has excellent communication skills. You will be pivotal in providing financial expertise to Management to assist in effective strategies and gain clearer directional insights.

Duties & Responsibilities of the Accounts Manager:

  • Perform daily bank reconciliations.
  • Overseeing day-to-day operations within Xero Accounting, including handling purchase invoices and expense disbursements
  • Report directly to senior management and the shareholders with monthly P&L, Forecasts etc.
  • Handle accounts payable tasks, including processing, filing, and supplier management.
  • Manage accounts receivable, including payment follow-ups and credit limit monitoring
  • Preparation of monthly management accounts and associated activities for multiple subsidiary companies
  • Preparation of reconciliations including Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss
  • Preparation of Budget financial information with key stakeholders
  • Preparation of Month end and year end activities
  • Preparation of weekly management information
  • Run monthly payroll and statutory payments
  • Aid in audit-related activities and stock counts

  • Previous experience as an Accounts Manager
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting processes and procedures
  • Results-oriented with a focus on delivering accurate, complete, and timely results.
  • Strong business acumen to build trust and credibility at all organizational levels.
  • Advanced knowledge of Xero accounting software
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and financialrelated software, including pivot tables and V lookups.
  • Expertise in teamwork and collaboration with experience in team/project-oriented activities.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and written/oral communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively communicate cost and financial information across the organisation.
  • Willingness and interest in professional growth and development.
  • Professional Qualification in Accounting (or willingness to obtain).
  • Experience in reconciliations, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Exceptional organisational and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
