Overview

This role sits within LSEG's highly energetic and engaging Group Risk function. The function has been on a significant growth journey over the past 3 years with a focus on embedding of risk management across the firm. Based in London and reporting into the Risk COO (and acting as their main deputy), this is a key position driving a strategic joined-up approach to delivery and operations of the Risk function.

We're looking for candidates with a strong delivery focus who can drive effective risk outcomes and deliver creative and pragmatic solutions. In return, we can offer a role that is exciting, varied and challenging with the opportunity to engage across all divisions of LSEG.

What you'll be doing:

  • Leading the development and implementation of cross-functional plans for delivery of Risk's strategic objectives, enabling successful delivery and appropriate consideration of conflicting priorities.
  • Leading setup, planning and delivery of the Risk Operating Committee, including providing support to ensure consistent and effective operation of the supporting delivery squads.
  • Leading the delivery of key Risk processes and operations including, for example, planning for Board and Management Risk Committee governance.
  • Driving and supporting key risk initiatives across the business, including the embedding of a robust risk culture.
  • Overseeing the operation of key functional management processes, for example cost management.
  • Identifying and delivering initiatives to improve the operational effectiveness and efficiency of the Risk function.
  • Advocating and driving the Risk function's use of data and technology to achieve more effective outcomes.
  • Acting as a deputy for the Risk COO, representing them and the broader Risk function with relevant committees, stakeholders and third parties.
  • Providing risk oversight, input and senior stakeholder engagement to drive risk insights and proactive problem solving/shaping.
  • Maintaining strong partnerships across all three lines of defence so that the risk framework has full endorsement from leadership and appropriately addresses their risk management needs.

You'll bring:

  • Proven track record in a successful senior operational / strategic role, in a leading financial services or technology firm driving best in class practice.
  • Strong transformation experience in a leadership role.
  • Credibility and expertise to influence at the senior management level.
  • Proven experience working in senior business and/or risk management roles, ideally at major global organisations.
  • Demonstrable operating skills with the ability to roll up sleeves to deliver if required.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the credibility, expertise and gravitas to influence at the senior management level.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to provide simple explanations of complex problems.
  • Sound judgement with experience of balancing competing factors to deliver optimal outcomes.
  • From a practical perspective, will be up to date data analysis and reporting, will be an expert in Microsoft suite etc
  • Experience of working in execution of complex strategic agendas across a complex high growth business is considered highly desirable
