Life as a Systems Engineer at CEF:
As a Systems Engineer, you will oversee the maintenance, support, availability, and security of our company's IT infrastructure. Your role will involve both proactive and reactive support for colleagues, managing and tracking issues through a ticketing system.
Leveraging your experience in a 3rd line/infrastructure role, you will support the business during an exciting technological transformation, ensuring that customer experience remains a top priority in all team decisions and interactions.
Additionally, you will excel at creating and maintaining technical documentation, policies, and procedures. Your ability to foster and manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders will be crucial to your success.
Your Objectives:

Management and administration of business-critical IT infrastructure, systems and services

Deploy, support, and maintain compute, network, storage and security services
-
Provide 3rd line escalation to internal support teams and colleagues
-
Create and maintain technical documentation, policies, and procedures
-
Establish and maintain relationships with external suppliers and partners
-
Be involved in out-of-hours 'on-call' support (as required)
Key Skills and Experience:

Proven experience in a 3rd line / Infrastructure role, resolving complex tickets in an enterprise environment

Strong administration skills in the following areas:

Data Centre Infrastructure (Compute/Storage/Virtualisation/Networking/Security)

Microsoft Windows Server (2012 to 2022)

VMware / vSphere ESXi
-
Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Radius, Group Policies

Microsoft 365 services and applications

Backup & Recovery
-
Strong ability to analyse complex issues and develop effective solutions.

Competent in creating and updating technical and procedural documentation.

Ability to multi-task, prioritise, manage time well, and build strong relationships
Beneficial Skills and Experience:

Experience of supporting business critical systems in a retail, warehousing, or manufacturing environment

Experience of working within an Agile Team using Scrum/Kanban

Experience with Atlassian tooling (Jira Service Management/Software/Confluence)

Experience of working with (supporting/administering) the following systems:
