As they continue to grow and expand their operations, they are seeking a talented and experienced Manual Turner / Miller to join their dedicated team.
Role Overview:
The successful candidate will be responsible for operating manual lathes and milling machines, producing high-quality components that meet exacting standards. This role demands exceptional attention to detail, a strong grasp of machining techniques, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate manual lathes and milling machines
- Interpret and work from engineering drawings and technical blueprints
- Perform various machining operations including turning, milling, drilling, and threading
- Ensure components meet specified tolerances and quality standards
- Conduct regular machine maintenance and safety inspections
- Work collaboratively with the engineering team to enhance production processes
- Comply with health and safety regulations at all times
Qualifications and Experience:
- Significant experience as a manual turner and miller within an engineering or manufacturing setting
- Proficient in machining techniques and tool selection
- Ability to accurately read and interpret engineering drawings
- High level of precision and attention to detail
- Strong problem-solving skills and work ethic
- Ability to work autonomously and as part of a team
- Basic understanding of workshop health and safety practices
- Relevant NVQ or equivalent qualification in machining (preferred but not essential)
