REED are excited to be working with a reputable client in the engineering sector that is looking to recruit an experienced purchasing administrator to join the team.

Location: Heaton, Newcastle - on-site

Description:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Administrator to join our client's team. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the procurement process, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services, and maintaining accurate records.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Maintain and update supplier information and procurement records.
  • Negotiate prices and terms with suppliers to secure the best deals.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with the warehouse team to manage stock.
  • Resolve any issues or discrepancies with orders and deliveries.
  • Prepare and analyze purchasing reports to identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Collaborate with various departments to understand their procurement needs.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a Purchasing Administrator or in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes and best practices.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and procurement software.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Salary: £25,000 - £27,000 per annum.

Job type: Full time, permanent

Hours: Monday - Friday 08:30 - 17:30
