What it's like to work here

You'll be reporting to the Area Ranger based at the same site. The main focus of your role will be to be involved in delivering a large landscape project that we're currently working on, this is the largest project that the Trust has done in Winchelsea and is real turning point in how we manage the land we care for here.

Winchelsea is a beautiful mix of rolling Sussex countryside and precious archaeology, surrounding an historic town with a passionate community. It is an exciting time to be joining us as we are currently working on the property's biggest ever nature conservation project, which will deliver improvements for wildlife, climate and the environment for many years to come.

What you'll be doing

You'll be helping to protect and care for habitats, wildlife, buildings and machinery. You'll pass on your knowledge and enthusiasm to encourage others to love this area as much as you do, including working closely with a team of regular volunteers. Whenever and wherever you come across people, you'll take the time to talk to them and answer their questions.

You'll make sure that the conservation work and outdoor experiences on the land in your care are of the highest standard. Whilst building relationships in the local community, you'll proudly represent the Trust and tell people about the work you and the volunteer team are doing.
