Finance Manager

They are an exciting growing manufacturer in the technology sector seeking a talented Finance Manager to join their team and support their future business growth. As the Finance Manager, you will play a crucial role in maintaining internal finances, providing real-time information to support decision-making, and driving cost control.

Location: Livingston (parking on site and hybrid working available following probation).

Hours: Mon-Thurs 8.30am-5pm, plus an early 2pm finish on Fridays!!

Salary: Up to £60k depending on experience plus full perm benefits!

Responsibilities:

  • Take ownership of the monthly management accounting pack, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and statement of source and application of funding.
  • Conduct monthly variance analysis, forecasting, budgeting, and expense reporting.
  • Maintain standard costing for existing and new products.
  • Prepare monthly VAT returns and other submissions to tax authorities.
  • Assist with short and long-term budget preparation.
  • Act as a point of contact for auditors and facilitate the annual audit and tax computations.
  • Manage stock control and investigations where necessary.
  • Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation calculations.
  • Oversee inventory and stock management.
  • Liaise with the Group Financial Director on projects and day-to-day issues.
  • Ensure high-quality financial controls are in place and standardise procedures.
  • Prepare grant applications and liaise with the Insurance Company.

Qualifications:

  • Recognised professional accounting qualification with post-qualified experience.
  • Hands-on experience in management accounting and financial reporting.
  • Strong understanding of stock and inventory management.
  • Familiarity with manufacturing processes, BOMs, and labour routings.
  • Solid financial and analytical skills, with proficiency in Excel and financial systems.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with finance and non-finance staff.
