Job Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen at London Gatwick Airport (LGW).

We are looking to hire an experienced Quality Systems Specialist:
Ideally we are looking for a Lead Auditor with an extensive background in Airplane Line or Base Maintenance or Aircraft Modification.
The successful candidate will lead the Audit and Personnel Board Approval activities.

Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the Compliance Monitoring Manager and reporting to the onsite Quality Manager, as well as within the wider commercial Quality Team with the following:

  • Creating and running the Annual/Monthly audit programme of internal, supplier, customer and regulatory authorities.
  • Leading the authorisation process for Engineering, Quality, Safety and Stores personnel.
  • Support development of audit scope, schedule, and plans to determine compliance with regulator/customer and compliance monitoring management.
  • Review company systems, policies and procedures and make recommendations to management team.
  • Review and present findings and concerns with the appropriate personnel or representatives of suppliers or service providers.
  • Investigate non-compliances to the required level and ensure appropriate corrective and preventative actions are taken.
  • Ensure adequate corrective and/or preventative actions are implemented, planned or accomplished for all audit findings.
  • Monitor and close occurrence reports and review trends.
  • Communicate audit or occurrence report trends to management team.
  • Evaluate closing activities associated with Air Safety, Mandatory Occurrence Reports and internal or external investigations.
  • Support liaison with regulatory authorities to resolve regulatory, quality and safety matters
  • Produce internal reports as required.
  • Support stakeholders in analysis of process data, metrics, models and flows to identify root cause of complex problems and support development and implementation of preventative or corrective actions
  • Working as part of a local and wider team (Boeing and/or customer).

Required skills and experience

  • Formal Lead Auditor qualification with experience in conducting internal and external audits.
  • 5+ years of experience in a Line/Heavy/Base Maintenance and/or Airplane Modification environment
  • Knowledge of applicable European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), UK Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) and/or Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Regulations
  • Experience working with Regulators and Customers and interpreting their requirements and expectations for Safety and Compliance Monitoring.
  • Excellent communication skills & good teamwork.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • A flexible and proactive attitude with a willingness to take on and complete tasks, whatever they may be.
