Accounts Assistant

With continued growth and success, they are looking for an individual with accounts payable or accounts assistant experience to join their team as Legal Cashier.

As a Legal Cashier, you will be responsible for handling financial transactions, including client and office accounts, managing payments, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This role involves bank reconciliation, invoice processing, handling payments, and producing financial reports. You will need strong numerical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage high volumes of data.

This is a permanent role, based in Bristol, offering hybrid and flexible working. Salary £24,000 - £28,000 DOE.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily banking activities, process payments, and allocate receipts.
  • Reconcile client and office bank accounts on a daily basis.
  • Process disbursement invoices and handle both internal and external enquiries.
  • Ensure compliance with Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) Accounts Rules.
  • Process BACS, CHAPS, and international payments.
  • Assist with month-end processes and financial reporting.
  • Maintain accuracy in high-volume data processing, using Excel.

Person Specification

  • Experience in an accounts payable role, or accounts assistant role, ideally within a legal or professional services environment.
  • Strong numerical reasoning and attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle repetitive tasks with a high degree of accuracy.
  • A team player who can adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
