Maintenance Engineer

We have an opportunity for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join a highly established company near Bourne. As a Maintenance Engineer you will be responsible for ensuring that all equipment and systems operate at peak performance. This is a hands-on role that requires strong mechanical skills and a good understanding of electrical systems.

Job Responsibilities

  • Maintain a scheduled preventative maintenance program that reduces downtime, increases equipment reliability, and improves overall efficiency.
  • Oversee maintenance projects and work with Production Manager to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and budget requirements.
  • Investigate and troubleshoot equipment failures and develop solutions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Manage and document maintenance activities, spare parts inventory, and work order history.
  • Respond immediately to machine breakdowns and ensure machines are repaired in a timely manner.
  • Carry out PLC repairs and updates.
  • Collaborate with production to ensure equipment meets operational requirements and regulatory compliance.

Person Specification

  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Engineer, preferably in a manufacturing or production environment, with the ability to strip and re-assemble machinery.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical skills with a relevant engineering qualification, such as an ONC/OND/HNC or an Electrical qualification - 18th edition.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a methodical and analytical approach to troubleshooting equipment issues.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
  • Knowledge of current environmental and health and safety regulations and the ability to ensure compliance.
  • Continuously improve technical knowledge and stay up to date with advances in technology, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements.

Hours and Pay

  • Up to 45k DOE
  • Monday to Friday (Flexible dayshift) 40hrs
