We are pleased to be representing a prominent Members organisation at the heart of the UK's financial services sector in their search for a Press Office Manager, for a 12-month fixed-term contract. This organisation is a trusted and collaborative voice for over 300 firms, working to champion a thriving financial sector and contribute to a better society.

About the Organisation:

Our client, a respected Member organisation, plays a crucial role in the UK's banking and finance sector. They serve as the public voice of the industry, promoting it to media, consumers, government, and other external stakeholders. This role offers the opportunity to join their dynamic press team within the wider corporate affairs department, engaging in both reactive and proactive media strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Media Leadership: Take charge of select policy areas, managing both proactive and reactive media activities.
  • Press Engagement: Respond to press inquiries, draft reactive statements, and coordinate broadcast media engagements.
  • Content Creation: Prepare press releases, articles, and opinion pieces for publication across various media platforms.
  • Media Monitoring: Stay ahead of news trends, breaking stories, and developments across online and social media channels.
  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong relationships with journalists and other media professionals.
  • Out of Hours Support: Participate in an out-of-hours media service as part of a rota system.

Skills and Competencies:

The ideal candidate will be bright, ambitious, and genuinely interested in the financial services sector and the broader business and political news landscape. Experience in financial services is preferred.
