The Company:
ER Recruitment are proud to be working exclusively with Dongyi Sourcing UK Limited, a leading fashion sourcing company who are dedicated to innovation, excellence, and the creation of design led and sustainable fashion.
Due to growth, they are seeking an experienced womenswear designer who has experience in tailoring and outerwear, the successful candidate will be responsible for creating innovative designs that align with our customer requirements.
Role & Responsibilities of the Women's Designer:
- Design and develop womenswear tailoring and outerwear collections from concept to final product.
- Research and analyse fashion trends, market demands, and competitive products to create fashion forward designs.
- Create mood boards, sketches, and technical drawings to communicate design ideas.
- Select appropriate fabrics, trims, and materials that meet the design and quality standards.
- Collaborate with merchandising teams in country to ensure design integrity and feasibility.
- Participate in design reviews, presentations, and meetings with clients and internal stakeholders.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of fabric developments, garment construction techniques, and industry innovations.
- Ensure all designs align with the customers aesthetic, quality standards, and sustainability goals.
About You as the Women's Designer:
- Bachelor's degree in Fashion Design or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in womenswear design, with a focus on tailoring and outerwear.
- Strong portfolio showcasing innovative designs and technical proficiency in womenswear tailoring and outerwear.
- Excellent understanding of garment construction, pattern making, and fitting.
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and CAD.
- Strong knowledge of fabric properties and sourcing.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Attention to detail and a keen eye for fashion trends and market needs.
- Passion for sustainability and innovative fashion solutions.
